In 2005, Loo Niva started an Education Support Programme providing scholarship with 36 children in the surrounding five Lalitpur and Kathmandu VDCs . Currently, in 2014 , 257 children of 21 public schools from 11 different VDCs in Kathmandu Valley are directly benefiting from the ESP. The programme is financially supported by Interpedia, Finland through the individual scholarships (the Finnish sponsors). The overall objective is to be committed to the cause of establishing the right to education for children living and working at difficult circumstances, and ensure them the opportunity to enjoy their childhood through education and awareness opportunities. The direct objective of the programme is to enhance children's right to education by providing education sponsorships to underprivileged and disadvantaged children The project also focus the activities to enhance the awareness level of parents on importance of child education, counseling for children at risk , home visits and conduct Annual Gathering and Parents Interaction , train teachers on facilitating childrens clubs in school for promoting education right for all children in their community. In addition to this, celebrate ESP Graduation to widely communicate the government and community about the achievements of ESP , provide humanitarian emergency relief assistance. In the year 2013, the ESP Program contributed for the continuation of educational opportunities for 257 children, out of which 108 have been to higher secondary and college education and 119 were in school education. 12 children among these received one time support just to prevent them from dropped out from school due to the current difficulty. 25 children graduated school and 27 sponsored children completed their higher secondary education. Still 7 children get dropped out during this year due to the influences and difficulties such as family migration, support family for income, early marriage of girl child, learning difficulties and overage, and bad peer influences. This has been the major challenges of the program and beyond the current project scope. 164 individual sponsors and 15 project support sponsors from Finland and 22 local sponsors from Nepal have extended their generous sponsorship Support to make these achievements possible. Loo Niva looks forward for the more supporters and supporting school sponsorship partnering with various organizations.
