Loo Niva and Patan CBR, conducted annual ward reviews of Promoting Right to Education and Protection of Vulnerable Children (PREP) in project wards of Konjyosom and Mahankal Rural Municipalities. The annual review program conducted from November 22 to December 20, 2023, brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including local authorities, project beneficiaries, and community members. A total of 161 participants, comprising 91 males and 70 females, actively engaged in the discussions, reflecting the widespread interest and commitment to the success of the PREP program.
The discussion during the review sessions centered on assessing the project's performance, highlighting achievements at the grassroots level, and identifying challenges in the year. The open and transparent nature of these discussions allowed for valuable feedback and suggestions from local stakeholders, contributing to a collaborative approach to addressing existing issues and planning for future improvements. The review underlined the project's contribution to education and the protection of vulnerable children within the communities. The reviews provided a platform to share insights into the positive impacts observed and to address any concerns or areas requiring attention.
The ward-level review reinforced the value of community engagement and collaboration in accomplishing sustainable development goals, in addition to acting as an evaluation of the PREP program. The decision-making process was executed in a participatory manner by incorporating local stakeholders, which demonstrated the initiative's dedication to transparency and inclusivity and laid a solid foundation for its ongoing success. All of the participants in the reviews expressed a commitment to protecting vulnerable children in rural municipalities and to upholding their right to an education.
