Loo Niva in close coordination with the CSO forum Sudurpaschim province, Swotantrata Abhiyan Nepal, Education Watch Group, and the child club network of Sudurpaschim province has handed over the appeal letter to the Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim province on 22 December 2023.
In the attention letter given to the chief minister, it has been demanded that children's courts in all districts in the province, formation of child rights committees at the local level according to the Children's Act 2078, child welfare officers, establishment of children's Fund, and registration of social workers and child psychologists. It has also demanded special grants from the province to local levels that are committed to child-labor-free local levels, organizing children's gatherings with the participation of child laborers for each local level to declare a child-labor-free municipality and creating an action plan with the program, establishing, operating and rescuing children at the provincial level (104). It has been requested to allocate a budget for rescue, temporary protection, and rehabilitation services for the rehabilitation of child laborers.
Similarly, the number of school dropouts, child marriage, child labor, and discrimination are increasing among the problems related to children in the Sudurpaschim province. So, it has also requested to make a plan to resolve such things.
